BCDMA & Mr. Pacman - Friday, December 14 December 7, 2001 Quirky local favorites The Bobby Collins Death Metal Armada and Mr. Pacman Present "Circus of the Stars" DENVER, Colorado - The Bobby Collins Death Metal Armada and Mr. Pacman will combine their particular and peculiar brands of musical performance for an over-the-top theatrical musical event at the Bluebird Theatre, Friday, December 14th. Included among the featured acts will be a futuristic fashion show, choreographed fighting, video presentations, break dancing, a children's choir, and the public release of "DMA-Vision," promised by the promoters to be "the future in concert-seeing technology." Pacman says that this will be his last and greatest show of the year. "After the fourteenth, we're going to hole-up in the Fortress of Solitude to finish recording our album. So we're going to pull out all the Pac-tricks for the Circus." Collins echoes Pacman's promises of extravagance. "I tell ya', this will truly be the last great show of 2001. We're really pulling out all the stops on this one. Along with DMA-Vision, the children's choir, and the lovely, animated 'What's Happening To Me?' video, we also promise a trip to the moon, several new songs, our best costumes yet and a well-timed video presentation. God almighty, I get goose bumps just thinking about it," says Collins, front man for the DMA, the fun-loving poppy trio that has already earned a reputation for their emphasis on showmanship, evident from their spectacular shows with such musical greats as Super Diamond, El Vez and Captured By Robots. Pacman will be presenting the final cut of "No Ghosts!" the special effects laden new video created by Eyeosaur Productions with compositing effects by Firestone Studios. About the new cut of his video, Pacman says, "There are brand-new Laser-Tag scenes in the video. It looks Pac-tastic!" Local break-dancers will be setting the mood for Pacman's unique vision of "future-past" style, specifically, the future as imagined in the 80's. First presented to critical acclaim earlier in the fall of 2001, the Pac Fashion show will this time be coordinated by the designer for Burlesque as it Was, Michelle Baldwin, who will continue and enhance Pacman's original idea of combining "futuristic" 80's fashions with used Laser-tag costumes, poly-blend and leather racing outfits, Hazmat suits, and motorcycle helmets, to create new fashions from a classic concept. Along with the introduction of "DMA-Vision", and the incorporation of a children's choir, the DMA will be showing, "What's Happening to Me?" an educational film about adolescence. "This video solves the puzzle of puberty and offers quick relief for the growing pains we've all experienced," says Collins. Ably assisted by Silver Ghost on the Commodore 64 supercomputer and White Tiger (allegedly Mr. Pacman's disfigured twin brother) on the synth drums, Pacman and his cohorts will be joined on stage by Pacman friends and foes such as The American Jerk, Mr. MacDonald, and Pacman Classic (the original Mr. Pacman from the early eighties who was "reintroduced" due to "nostalgic popularity"). For this, their final show of 2001, Pacman promises that there will be choreographed fighting, the infamous Paxcersize program, moral lessons and tons of action-packed entertainment. "We have some acts planned that we're going to keep secret, but I can promise you that they are going to blow people's minds," says Collins. "We'll definitely look forward to seeing you and everyone else with good taste at the 2001 Circus of the Stars."
